Description

The enamel inset is a beautiful hand enameled portrait of a lady.  The enamel is in very good condition showing only one loss above the signature, otherwise it looks almost perfect - which is remarkable to be found on a piece of this age that is over 100 years old.

The signature of the artist is signed on the left side, above the hair of the woman's portrait. It appears to be A. Meyer. On the back is a paper with a hand-written name.

This was originally in a gold filigree abstract table frame, which seemed to be originial to the art, but has become separated over the years. These metal artworks were often used as lids on jewelry and trinket boxes in France and America, and this most likely was as well.

The detail on this piece is amazing, it looks like the jewels are real! Make sure to look at all the images in the gallery. This piece is one of a kind.
